A little thing called life (insurance): July 2021

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

A digestible series on commonly asked questions about life insurance.

What is better: Term or Permanent Life Insurance?

Both term and permanent (often called perm) are good products but have very independent purposes. In its simplest functionality, term is like renting and perm is like owning.

How much life insurance do I need?

At the Purcell Agency, we use a specific process called DIME ~ D=Debt, I=Income, M=Mortgage, and E=Expenses and existing life insurance. No one wants to pay for more insurance than they need. This process helps to narrow your focus on your families need and what life insurance you currently have that can help to offset the need.

Am I still eligible for coverage if I have a serious health condition?

Unfortunately, the answer is "it depends". There are major organ issues that can be underwritten. Certain types of cancers when you have experienced at least five (5) years of being cancer-free can be underwritten. Diabetes can be underwritten. Your family is worth the inquiry. Conversations are always free.
